Ok so I have a FA RT that I really love my first batch on 750 .40 S&W cases done with the provided brass cleaner still look like brand new.

I have since done 600 .30 carbine cases using lemishine and dawn both methods also using SS pins. I have noticed that the .40 cases still look new and the .30 carbine cases are starting to darken already has anyone experimented with any time of brass polish/cleaner other then the FA brass cleaner they suggest to keep the brass from tarnishing? Any info would be appreciated

Some of us on this forum using wet cleaning use Armor All to prevent tarnishing. I get mine from my local auto parts store.

Got a 64oz bottle of Armor All Ultimate wash and wax concentrate at Walmart today for $4.50 put about an oz with lemishine ss pins and 1 1/3 gal hot water in with 660 .30 carbine brass that was clean and starting to tarnish will let tumble for 3 hours and then separate pins and dry in my new food dehydrator ($44) and see how they turn out.

I wet tumble with auto wash & wax as well. I've got tumbled cases lying exposed to the air for months with no apprciable loss of shine. So, I'm sold on the wash & wax.

I've used the following wash & wax brands:

1. Armor-All,

2. Blue Coral,

3. Rain-X.

I find that all 3 clean very well, and all 3 leave a residual wax coating that impedes the return of tarnish. In my experience, though, the Rain-X produces more suds than the others. I was adding 1 ounce per Tumbler's Model B drum.

So, the lesson learned is that I'll go with whatever's available. If all three are available, I'll go with the cheapest which is the Blue Coral.

At our local Wal-Mart, the Blue Coral was $3 and change and the Amor-All was $4 and change. I believe the Blue Coral came in a 100 ounce container off the shelf.

Since the Blue Coral doesn't seem to suds up that much, I typically like to use several ounces per drum. I figure the extra bit of wax won't hurt, either. The tarnish doesn't seem to return............

Depends on the water quality for the amount of suds. The local water supply has very hard water and I had a filtration and RO system installed to make the water usable.
