CFE Pistol

Went into my LGS on Tuesday.....POWDER, LOTS OF POWDER They had just got a shipment in and no one knew of it yet. Of course I bought two pounds. Went back today to get another pound to try the cfe pistol and all but one was gone. I took the last one of course. They had plenty of choices Im sure most will be gone tommorow. ANy one else hitting gold mines?

I'm kinda wondering about the point behind CFE Pistol. I didn't know that copper fouling was that big a problem in pistols.

I got a bunch of Hodgdon CFE Pistol when it first came out. Its a really slow powder, on the burn chart, its between Win Autocomp and Ramshot Silhouette. Loaded up some 45acp and it was spitting unburned powder back in our faces on 4" pistols. Kinda ok, no big deal, ho-hum in 9mm but I have to say that I really like it in 380acp. I have never seen copper fouling in any of my pistol barrels but it does burn really clean in 9mm and 380acp. I have not tried it in 40 S&W yet.

I thought I stayed up on powders, but I had only ever heard of CFE 223 powder for rifles....
