Good evening from Arequipa.
UPDATED POST # 12
2nd Update Post # 17
3rd Update Post #21
4th Update.. #23 All is well. Praise to God Who has kindly answered prayers. Thank you all !
After weeks of tests and watching, the throat surgeon here decided this
evening that it would be best to remove my wife's Thyroid gland, both sides. The growth on the left side has become agressive and fast growing in the last two weeks. Now the right side shows two growing globials there. All the tests so far do not show cancerous. But what ever it is is now fast growing. So Friday, 9 May at 11 am she reports in and at about 1pm (central time) the surgeon will begin. Should be about 1.5 hours.
We would appreciate your prayers. This is at a clinic where we weekly distribute Gospel tracts and we had the privaledge to give one to the surgeon tonight. He has never seen one before as he normally works out at the large General Hospital.

A friend of mine had this exact surgery roughly 3 weeks ago on a Thursday and was back at work the following Monday. She said the hardiest part is getting used to taking the daily meds. No surgery is pleasant but hopefully, this will not be too difficult for your wife. My thoughts and prayers are with the two of you.

Prayers for your wife and the surgical team who will be working on her.

I have to take my levothyroxin on an empty stomach and not eat for 15 minutes after. Since I am diabetic and controling it with diet and exercise I don't have a lot of time during the day when those criteria are reliably present, especially when my schedule changes some over the week. I typically get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, that is when I take it.

Greetings
Just returned home and all went well. No complications. Initial visual tests show all "nodes" were still encapsulated with no extending growths. Barring complications may be home Sunday but Monday for sure. No loud talking nor extensive talking for some time !!
Thank you .. each of you for your kind prayers.

Good morning
Thank you each one for your prayers. Vicky is well, talks normal and the incision is healing normal. All reports say the "cancer pods" were all still encapsulated. Medicine wise that is still in the balancing process but looks good.
Thank you ! God has again Blessed our feeble bodies and in His kindness let us be the recipients of your prayers.
Unless there is a drastic change this will be the last update. Mike in Peru

Mike just found your post. My wife had same surgery a few years ago. She takes a little pill every morning and is fine. Based on a friends experience if her hair gets dry and brittle she should have her medicine adjusted. Wish your wife well.
