Well I snagged a real nice older 336 A 24 inch barrel in 30-30 last week,it seems to be in great shape cant wait to go and shoot it. I found it on Gunbroker and it came from a real nice gentleman in Winchester Ky. I thought that was kind of unique.

Nice long barrel. Dandy one for cast shooting. Have you had a chance to look up its age yet? Have too say. >Congrats on a nice find Rifle 57.

It's a '78 model and should be micro-groove. I have a '48 version of the same rifle with the original ballard rifling. I've not shot it much but it appears it is going to be a shooter.
Hope you enjoy your new rifle,
Rick

I am the proud owned of a 336A from 1949 in 32 Winchester Special. Great rifles, bordering on fabulous shooters.

Very nice rifle, wish I still had mine. I think they discontinued those in '80, I'm not sure.

I have thought about a 32 win. It looks like a very nice round to shoot.

I have a 1972 336A in 30-30 that is one of the best shooting levergun I have ever fired. It is a jewel.

I have a 1981 Marlin 336 that just has "336" on it with no letter. So you may be right.

If it has no letter behind the 336 then it is a "C" model which stands for carbine. You see quite a few without the letter behind the 336.

Very nice, congratulations. I seldom see anything but carbines around here.

Looks just like my late Grandfather's rifle. It has Ballard rifling, and is a real shooter.
