I didn't see a group buy for this one. Can someone tell me the intention, and if it is working good?

Looks like a long, light candidate for the blackout, but it looks like it would have problems with stability with the long pointy nose.

I just noticed that today- looks interesting but I don't feel up to ordering the mold to find out how it would work in the 300

I suspect we will not get any feed back unless someone shows up from the other website that ran the buy through NOE with it. :)

300blkout forum or something.

I bet it will work fine for the 300BO and probably a few other cartridges too. It'd make a heck of a 308 win round I bet. :)

That's an awful lot of grossly unsupported bullet up front. Look forward to reports.

Don't think that one is going to work very well. The front section is going to slump and twist all over.

Thats kinda what I thought when I saw it too. But, I don't get why NOE would run it unless someone put him up to it. Didn't think it came from here.

I'm thinking it may work. I'm gonna try to mooch some samples. :)

if not, I'll try to borrow a mould. :)

How interesting. I love spire points, so maybe I'll grab one in the near future.

He got 40 orders for it. So I don't think someone put him up to it.

I emailed him earlier about a similar spire-point around 150 grains. I have the 155gr FN but it hangs up in the throat unless I seat it deep. I'll probably end up ordering the .311 diameter of this one.

Here's a post about it on another forum:

My Mom always told me if I couldn't say some nice, I shouldn't say anything at all...

First reports are coming in today. Sounds like it is making contact with the feed ramp upon chambering. Asked for clarification of where the contact is. If the tip is hitting the ramp I can't see how it would not get bent. .25" down I don't think it will be an issue. One guy is reporting "whiskers" from the vent lines. May have cut vent lines to deep on some molds. Man, I want this one to be "the one" for 300 BO, but I have my doubts.

I have some cast, but it will be several days until I can shoot 'em. They need to age harden anyway....132gr w/GC and lube. With their velocity potential, powder coating may be necessary, but I'll try 'em both ways.

Can you load up some dummy's and cycle them to see where the contact areas will be. Pic's of the deformation if there is any will be helpful.

Well, I took this one out of my cart. With the vent line issues, and folks being able to bent the nose with their finger it looks like it might be a dud, bummer. I kinda expected this from what I have learned here, but had an open mind that things aren't always what they seem. It just goes to show the knowledge base that is this website should not be overlooked. I do commend Superfly for giving it a try. It took some guts to go against the grain and try something out of the norm. Who knows, it could still work out for the single shot guys.
