I have a Magnum Reasearch Loan Eagle in 30-06 and am looking for a light bullet to launch out of it. I really like the 130 gn gas checked bullet by RCBS but am having a hard time finding load data for this pill. I use Imr 4320, Varget, Cfe 223 and RL 7. Any help with load data or where to find said data would be greatly appreiciated. I don't want to sink 100 buck into a mold and top punch is tje data is not out the for the bullet.

RL 7 is the best choice amongst the powder you have. Start at 25 grains and do not exceed 36 grains, and expect the boolit to hit a ways off from the point of aim, if you have sighted it in with full power jacketed stuff. Varget might be useful, in the 30-40 grains range, but I have no personal experience with this powder. As I understand it, the CFE 223 is designed for optimal performance with jacketed bullets in the 222, 223 class of calibers. I deem it unlikely to work well with cast at lower pressures.

RCBS makes excellent molds and I own something like a dozen of them, though not the 130 grain round nose gas check.

However, if it were I, I'd check with NOE or Accurate and get one of the 311-465 or 311-466 molds. They are both excellent and I have used them extensively in both the 30-06 and the 30-30.

I'd also suggest a Dacron filler (3/4 gr) with the RL7 powder. Also 2400, 4227, 5749 and 4198 will be better powders for that bullet in the '06 if you can find any of them these days.
