I went with my wife to a neighborhood yard sale today. while walking amidst all the junk, i saw a silver cup thrown in with kids stuff and trash. turned out to be a jefferson cup. pure pewter. 50 cents ain't bad for about 8 ounces. every little bit counts lol

I find pewter at the thrift shops usually for about $3/lb.

You scored better than I did this weekend, nothing at the scrap yard and paid $2 for a half pound pewter mug. Felt heavier than that (sigh).

That's a good price, but for your future pricing efforts you should figure Jefferson cups at about 4.5 ounces.

Haven't weighed it but just guesstimating. still figure since wife was going anyway 50cents was too good to pass on. will weigh it and check. lol

I've had more than just a couple. :wink: 4.5 ounces is a good average for the standard size.

And I'll buy every one I can find at 50 cents. It's a great find. :)
