Can you use GC style boolits without GC's? will it cause excessive leading? was just wondering if I should buy a mold if its a GC style, because I don't GC.

Generally it's best to avoid GC designs if you never intend to put on the checks. They can work, though, particularly with milder loads. I'm satisfied with shooting the Lee C309-113-F "Soup Can" (a fatter Group Buy version) rifle boolit checkless in my 7.62mm Nagant revolver.

this would be in my 44 mag. didn't plan on GC'n em.guess I'll stick with a PB style.Midway has 2 cav saeco mold on sale .430 FNGC 265gr for $65. why I was askin.

I've found it can go either way. I use the Lee 310 FNGC barefoot in my .44's, and it works fine in some, not so well in others. You'll just have to try it and see.

I think it's a little easier to go with a GC mold on pistol w/o gc than with rifle. Still better to go with what it's made for. Yo could get a gc mold and remove the gc part of the mold.

I would look for a PB boolit like the one you want. It is a real toss up whether a given boolit will shoot well without a check. I have seen some accurate boolits keyhole with the check left off.
