Not my first revolver. That was a smith 36-1. But my first big bore. It's a 629pc. I know the 2 5/8" barrel isn't great for "optimal" mag rounds. But this will be a range toy that shoots 44 special. It has the "option" of magnum rounds as I see it. I'll post a few pics for you guys to enjoy. I think it's a beautiful gun in it's own way.

Groo here
A "True " Hand Cannon is a pistol with a cartridge made from a 444 or 405 case ,aka 375JDJ or 338 GNR. lol-lol-lol

A 44 Mag is nowadays not what I would call a "Handcannon" actually. Of course that is a relative term. To someone that has only shot a 38 Special or 357 Mag or 9M/M or 45 Auto it may seem to be.
It is still a nice looking handgun though. I like it.

Although I agree in general, ill bet the short barrel might put it in the 'cannon' category
Probably kicks harder than my 5" 460 s&w magnum. And that's definitely a cannon

I'm jealous nonetheless. Prob a pleasant shooter with high end 44 spl loads

Lets see the accuracy at 25 yds. Or better yet, lets see the accuracy at 7 yds...empty a cylinder in 1.5 seconds

The muzzle blast qualifies it. I had a Astra Terminator snubbie...was remarkably accurate. I could hit milk jugs at 100 with regularity. It's another "zen" gun that takes your undivided attention to shoot well. I think you'll be surprised if you push the envelope some.

I would load mild 44mags for it with a 250 Keith style boolit to about 800-900 FPS. It has enough weight to it to almost be pleasant to shoot with them.

That is my plan exactly. It's got some heft to it... Fat revolvers need love too!
