what's the lead content in the one inch lead pipe I just made into ingots?

Depends on how it is smelted.


Smelted down with no solder joints....pretty much pure lead and a touch of tin.
Smelted down with solder joints intact.....pretty much pure lead and a bit more tin.


Some say there is a minute amount of antimony in lead pipe...I have never seen the evidence of this in the PIPES I MELTED.

Most of what I use for soft lead was once lead water pipe that was ripped out the earth while installing natural gas mains/services in the cities round these parts. It is good stuff, but at the time I smelted it I did not know about the joints so most my "soft lead" supply is closer to 30-1 lead/tin.

this did not have any joints, it was all flattened pipe and it was smelted at 650 over a coleman

I would treat it as pure lead .. may have a very slight amount of tin but if so it will be very small amount
