a week or so ago I was lucky enough to snag 200 rounds of megtech 45 lc brass from midway. first off I don't like to buy brass I pick up allot of range brass for my autos and have pretty much a life time supply of it but as far as revolver calibers people don't let much of that lay at the range. sometimes I buy factory ammo just for the brass but 45 lc is pretty costly ammo even if I can find any 40 $a box for federal 210 jsp ammo at the local walmart. so anyhow I would like to have a little more 45 lc brass all that midway has right now is starline 45 lc with .140 flash hole saying for blanks only I researched it a bid ive seen guys say they have loaded it without issue and others say no blanks only. starline says dimentions are all the same except for the larger flash hole any opinions on this ?? has anyone actually loaded it ? buy or don't buy ?

Seems like I saw on starlines site that the blank brass was not to be reloaded after the initial loading, but I have not messed with it or know anybody that has. They make a run of 45 colt brass pretty often it seems like.

The blank ones have the primer holes slightly larger. So the primer just falls out and can be replaced with no tools required.

The is only to be used for single shot cowboy action only.

Ie wax bullets .

If you put a real load in it your going to have a bad day

regular starline brass is just fine. I load it all the time. the blank cases are only for blanks. no problem but don't use blank brass

Give starline a call. They will usually put you up for backorder on 45 colt even if the site says "no backorder". Lately, there have been quite a few runs of the 45 colt brass. Wish they would make more of the 357 mag.

Edit :Looks like they have a run available to ship on 5/23.

I have a couple thousand of their standard 45LC brass and the load and shoot just fine. Do not be afraid of it. Just get on the list or you will never get any.

Blank stuff is just for that.

I bought 1500 over the last few months. Been loading the same 125 for my ruger Blackhawk 7.5 for about 10 reloads now. Haven't had to discard a single case yet. I would just go sign up for a 1000 from starline for $183 and have them before the end of may.

Just jumped on this today. Found a new bag of WIN (100 count) at a LGS for $37. Starline is shipping 500 pieces for around $0.22 each. They also have .44 Special available.

I got myself on Starline's list yesterday for the 45 colt brass. Seems like they had just run it a month or two ago as well. I hope that means they're starting to catch up.
