A friend was given one by his father. Finding 250 Savage ammo or new brass is not easy. My question is can 250 Savage brass be formed from any other brass?
Thanks,
Ronnie

Expand necks up from 22-250.

Or down from .300's. (Might need to turn the necks though.)

Thanks. It's a bummer to have something like that and not be able to shoot it.

.22-250 easiest, .243 Win, .260 Rem but will require trimming, .300 Savage may come up short, most .308 or .30-06 based cases can be used depending on how much work you are willing to do (forming, trimming, neck reaming, annealing)

i form 250 Savage from Lake City .308 with a RCBS forming set. Gunbroker has 250 Savage brass frequently. Winchester goes for a premium over Remington.

Winchester makes a seasonal run of .250 so it does show up from time to time. I've had the best luck getting it from Cableas.

Most of my 250 Sav. cast loads are in converted 22-250 brass. I find they're the easiest to find and easiest to convert. Regards, Woody

One of our local Cabela's had several bags of fresh 250 Savage unprimed brass on the shelf recently so there must be some out there.

I believe Remington still produces .250 Savage. At least I have been able to purchase it in limited quantities for the past several years.
