I got a Mihec cramer mold that I just cleaned some lead off of. I was wondering if anyone had experience with graphite (powdered) and heat. I was thinking of using it on the little rods that screw on to the hollow point pins. I have cleaned off leaded molds before but this is the first time I ever thought of using a lubricant on the rods. Maybe it will make the rods slide a hair easier. I thought I would ask the experts first. I already loosen the rods a quarter turn and that helps. :bigsmyl2:

Use the provided lube on the pins that go into the mold, and just a touch on the threads.

Note: Do NOT get any on the hollow point pin surface.

I have been using Mihec molds for a couple of years now. I would only use the provided lube as a sprue plate and alignment pin lube. So far I have not used anything on the hollowpoint pins or the rods that hold them. The rods are so close on tolerances that any lube can build up and stop production. That's why I was only considering the powdered graphite. I guess I will just try it and see.
