Without a doubt a Belding & Mull.

One of the most accurate measures ever made.

They used to go for over $100.00 on E-Bay, been dropping slightly lately.

Yes, a mistreated Belding & Mull. I gotta float my stick with jcwit, if there was ever a better measure made, I never met it. It deserves a little tender care. james

Just found a new thread in the Black Powder section on the Lyman #5 ...

Yup, a Belding and Mull, with top. Needs a little care, some oil and practice working. You will need a measure to use it, it uses a separate measure. I have a couple made from 45-70 cases. You can get new ones off eBay or from the current maker of the Belding and Mull. They weren't available when I had mine made.

Did some of the belding and mulls just have a little brass knurled nob on the side instead of a lever?

Starmac, no.You might be thinking of the old iron frame Pacific. It is similar in size, but works very differently.

I saw one in good condition at a reloading supply vendors backyard shop and kicked myself all the way home not taking it home for $20. Nice to see what they are worth and what it was now so I can kick myself some more. :violin:

If you don't have the tube or need parts the new Belding and Mull has them. It's a gun shop here in Pa.

Very nice old bedding and mull ppowder measure there. Did you get the measuring tube with it? If not they can easily be made. Most hobby stores have brass tube selectionsfor model trains and such. A piece of tube .500 od and another that just fits inside it. A 1/2" stop collar and thumb screw to fit it from the local hardware store. A wood dowel or solid piece of brass fit to inside of smaller tube. cut tubes and solid roughly 3" long. epoxy solid in tube to desired hieght ( depends on how big of powder charges you want) I have one with just a solid slide for small charges. Glue stop collar onto bottom of 1/2 tube and let cure. Now insert thumb screw into stop collar and slide smaller tube into place. Tighting the thumb screw will lock it nicely and allow adjusting settings. You can scribe a line at desired powder charges or with the depth rod on cali[pers measure depth when correctly set.
They are very accurate and work very well with a variety of powders though Ive never tried ball or flakes in mine. For rifle powders and or Black powder they are great.

Belding and Mull is in Philipsburg but they do take a mail order should you ever need anything. I have 3 of their measures, Later ones had a plastic hopper.

Neat design as the powder is dropped from a separate chamber from the reservoir leading to charge consistency, and the window is a nifty feature also. Cleaned, polished and painted the one I found, and absolutely love it.

Yes...Belding & Mull. The last one I saw was like new in a box for $160. I never used one but had seen pictures. It seemed over priced. He still had it several gun shows later.
