Hey guys. I got a couple of Korean KCI mags for the Glock 19 that is soon to be mine. From what I have read these are made for the South Korean military. They are finished a bit rough but seem very nice for half the cost of OEM. Anybody use these mags? Any major differences in function or fit?

i have some I use in a Glock 17. They are not as good as Glock. They do not usually drop free and I have had the baseplates crack if I leave them loaded, and I always leave my mags loaded. Other than that I like them as range mags. I use OEM for carry and such, but the Koreans are worth the price I suppose. I won't buy more of them though.

Thanks. Yeah I'm not planning to carry them or anything but just for range use they sound good. According to another forum the mag bodies on these are well made but the springs and bases are questionable.

I would say that my experiences mirror those.

Yep, but some real Glock bases on. I like mine fine.

I had one when I still had a 17. It was a 33rd 9mm mag. It worked fine for the $10 new price. Assuming the body is good, baseplates, springs and followers can be replaced.

I've also got one of the KCI 17rd G17 mags that I use for a range mag. Haven't had any issues with it yet (limited firing and no rough handling however) The other Asian 33rd mag however does have allot of flashing inside that I had to remove to get to function correctly.

I have several KCI mags . They have all functioned perfectly.

Sounds like the KCI mags are typical milsurp. Cheaper than the commercial version, requires some tweaking to work right!

I've got several and they work fine. Polish the metal feed lips a bit and they work great for range mags.

Heck I think I've still got 6 or 7 still new in the wrapper and I don't even own a 19 any more.

No problems here. I have several, and I just use them for range mags, but that's just because they're cheap. As stated above, check the inside for flashing, and fire away.
