I swapped moulds with a fellow looking for a 45BP mould a few months back. Both moulds were made by MM(Mountain Moulds) The mould I got in the trade has me puzzled as to its' ultimate use... It is a double cavity mould marked MM506 580. I cast a few bullets with it and they did measure .506 and weighed 576 from my soft lead. The OAL is 1.178 with 4 lube grooves. It is of flat point design with a nose width of .325... It appears to be a gas check design with a shank diameter of .460. The mould has a very heavy steel sprue plate and looks to be in VG condition. Right now, I don't think I have a use for it, but hesitate to try to sell or trade it without knowing what it really is or the value... any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a PC dummy and am not able to post a picture of the mould.. hope the description helps.
