Our South Bay Rod and Gun Club had a meeting with swap meet/sellers tables last night and I was looking around and what did I see was a old (older than me...) fellow with 5 tins of #11 caps on the table. I introduced myself and asked what he wanted for them all and he thought a bit and said........."does $10 sound too much?" I nearly fell over and sure enough I had some $$$$ so I bought them. He said he had more as he was not doing any more muzzle loading now and in my excitement I did not get his name! Now I have to do some detective work....

.

That's just wrong ! . ;)

And (IMO), what's even worse is advertizing your theft online ! :D

Maybe they are old enough that the seller made a profit.

If the seller set the price then there is nothing to complain about. Great score!

$10 for half a brick sounds about right. I just bought two bricks of #11s for $40 three weeks ago from a guy who had them on consignment at the LGS. They sat there for at least 4 months and no one wanted them. He was happy because he quit muzzleloaders and I imagine that was about what he paid for them. I was happy because they are hard to come by and mucho dinero when you do find them.

I just bought a couple thousand #10 and #11 and I did not get them at that bargain price.

They have been 7.99 a tin here at sportsmans, for at least a year, over twice the price of primers. lol

Seems like every time I go in there they get a new batch and they are $1 more.

I found a couple of tins of CCI #10's for $5.99. Got them home and they wouldn't fit on my Euroarms 1858 Rem. Hope they fit on something else I have!

Nice price!
Jeepers. Is searching for caps going to get like road warriors looking for petrol?

Last June, 2013, I found some RWS #11 caps and was glad to get them for $80 a 10 tin tube. LGS owner said he couldn't get any more RWS stuff and "gifted" the last 2 tins from a broken tube so they wouldn't "just hang around" so it worked out to $6.70 a C tin(they were plastic not metal). That was not the best deal of my 2013 year but close. 10
