View Full Version : Probably overkill, but...

I had an extra PID and a thermocouple that wouldn't work for my lead pot so I set this up. I know it's probably silly of me, but I had fun doing it. Makes it easier for me to dial in temps for my lube.

I think it is an excellent idea......Consistency! Most of my problems have been due to heat issues with my Star; I would turn on my heater and forget about it and come back to hollow snakes of lube all over my bench.

Hey it is a good idea.

It's a very good idea. I saw once where someone used an aquarium temperature controller.

I did the same thing with a spare PID and thermocouple I had. No regrets and I love it on my Star. I made it portable so I can use it with my RCBS LAM as well.
I like to turn it on and 30 minutes, I am ready to size away. Keeps my lube dialed in...115 for Lars Carnauba Red and 120 for Magma Hard Lube.

Neat! But for all those fancy red b00lits, you don't need it! :-)

Yeah... those just happened to be on the bench while I was building my heater base. But true! No lube needed.
I've always wanted a Star, it was a shiny silver dream during all those long weekends of pan lubing,...... and just as I build up enough credit to get one, advances in alternative coatings make it old school for my pistol boolits. But I'm keepin' it!
