Finally got to shoot at my boolit trap today.Been barried all winter by tons of snow.Found some 358429,s laying on the ground, that looked almost perfect, other then the rifiling. The hardest boolits that ive ever casted, was no harder then 20-21 bn.Im sure these was wdww,,and they were probaly around 17-18 when loaded.

I brought some of these home, and they test 29 bn.........How come? Does this happen after they have been tortured down the bore? Or was it something to do with laying in the cold and snow all winter?

Cant see how or why they are so hard. BTW, im sure they are my boolits, cause nobody else shoots here...

Snow makes the most wonderful boolit catcher......

think water dropping a friction heated boolit directly into the snow.
or B. it took this long for the boolit to finally settle down and stabilize to the final bhn.

Has anybody been able to measure the temp of a fired boolit, fresh out of the muzzle? Wonder how hot they get,,,,

I dunno but the nose on an airplane gets pretty hot, so does a rock falling into the atmosphere.
