OK, I got your attention. At present anyone needing .357 Maximum brass is out of luck and at the mercy of Remington. If enough people start to haunt Starline Brass there is a chance they may have a run on the brass we need. rhayden@starlinebrass.com can start the ball rolling. They're busy, but money talks! It worth a shot!

Although the idea sounds just peachy do you have any idea what the cost per piece would be?

Some folks think that money is no object if they really want/need something bad enough, but I aint one of them.

I read somewhere yesterday that Remington is supposed to do a run next month...it's on the Internet so it must be true. I have managed to collect 200 pieces from this forum in the last few months.

I read on Mike Bellm's site that Rem was supposed to do a run of it in May. I figure they need to do a bigger run than they typically do. Seems that it always sells out in just a few hours. If they do a run and I can get an order in I will probably try to buy a lifetime supply this go round.

Either Mid South or Midway (maybe both) list it as out of stock If you order some they will not charge your card until it is shipped. Once enough backorders are received to make it profitable they will make a run.

I just sent starline a message about putting 357 max in there lineup. I hope if they see a window for some profit they will get on board.

Gosh, about ten years ago, I had 1,000 new cases that I thought I was going to wind up being stuck with. I like the 35 Remington so much more

<-------been petitioning Starline for years...NO DICE YET I would gladly pay a premium for Starline 357MAX brass over the Rem stuff, but that is just me. The sad/weird thing is that Starline already has the basic tooling to make it, yet they do not. Some mysteries will never be solved I spose.

Matt,
I have used Starline in various calibers and it's usually reasonably priced and of a good quality. I'm not saying we should pay through the nose. I'm too tight for that!

Does the fact that no one else will consider a run is that maybe Rem. still holds the legal name and isn't interested in leasing the name ??
There might be a way and the answer may rest in Carson Reece.

Good morning
For numerous years past reloaders were bugging Starline about 38-55 brass. It happened.
I do not doubt that they listen to requests. When a certain caliber has more requests than all the rest it gets made first. It is about profits.
So I will write. I would like to see Starline making caliber .357 Supermag. Sad that my .357 SM is the only DW SM revolver that cannot be fed Starline.

Yeah, well the squeaky wheel gets the grease! I'm still going to pester Starline! Their brass is better than Remington. I did break down and ordered (backordered) 1000 pcs. of Rem. brass from Mid South. Remington is "supposed to" have a run in May, 2014.

I have seen some ugly rumors floating around about Remington not making a run of 357max brass this year due to the high demand of there other products.

Midway USA got in a new batch and it went to backordered orders. It's in the pipeline. I still wish Starline would make it! I keep trying to encourage them to start production. If enough people contact them they may decide it will be profitable. Bob

I don't even own a 357 maximum but I use the brass as practice points for archery. They are longer and stronger than 357 magnum brass. It also gives you more room to weigh down the tip with lead shot so that it matches your broadheads. I shoot 23/64 wood arrows.

http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/20448t looks like Grafts has some Jamison Brass available. I have never used any from Jamison so I don't know if they are as good as Starline.

I bought 500 Starline 357 max cases years ago, still got 450 left. No they are not for sale. Bought them to use for 7mm supermag, big failure, junk caliber. I recently had another idea for them, Thought it was a new idea but it ain't, still going to give it a shot. The 7mm sm barrel will be sacrificed for a stub for this project. If they become available again I will buy 500 more.

i been thinking, have you tried 223 brass cut off at the shoulder? way easier to find than 357 Max.

The 357 is a rimmed case so I don't think the 223 would work very well as it is a rimless design.

Garandsrus and Grendl, I feel like we are in a secret club now lol... I have been looking for that brass for a long, long, long time and it eluded me until now! 300 pcs will last me a good bit! Now I just need some 25-35 and I can relax.
