RCBS parts in Ideal 45?

I seem to recall reading in a thread that the plunger out of an RCBS LAM can be installed in a Lyman Ideal 45 lubesizer. I have 2 of the old girls, and I love them except for the ribbons of lube I get leaking over the top of the old brass spring plunger seals. Anyhow, I ordered two (plunger and O ring)from RCBS and just got around to replacing one of them. No way, there's a good sixteenth inch gap all the way around. Maybe if I get a much thicker O ring from the hardware store?

I'd just get the pressure screw and nut from Lyman as replacement parts, they fit the 45 as intended.....
