Searched and can't find anything specific on the title subject. So here is what I'm trying to find out.

Based on the title constraints has anyone found a powder/primer that gives at least a 1/2MOA at 100yds with LC brass?

So far, it seems 335 is the most recommended for general 223 rounds but can't find specifics on accuracy with the 1/9 twist in the 527 with the MiHa mold boolit.

Thanks in advance

OK, I found one thread on a closed group buy - seems H4198 might be the way to go. ANYBODY shooting the 65gr Nato boolit with a favorite load - especially with a 1/9 twist barrel?

My guess why you've gotten no responses would be the above requirement. Most don't do that with jacketed bullets let alone cast.

I plan to shoot the 222 (CZ 527) with the Mihec 75 gr (70 actual) using H-4198 so far I have had great results with 55 gr (60 actual) and that powder.

I will say the 222 is a consistent sub inch shooter at 100 with jacketed and if I can get 1" with cast I am happy as a clam

Larry / Mag,
Thanks for the replies. Guess I'm hoping for too much with the cast. I've had years of success with pistol casting (and 38-55) but this is my first foray into bottleneck rifle. I've found the 60 gr cast in Lyman's #4 with IMR 4227. Since Miha's isn't that much more + 2 to 4gr or so, I'm going to go with it - especially since I found 3 lbs of it and none of the 4198 or anything else slow enough. Really getting ahead of myself anyway, I'm on the waiting list with CZ for the rifle. Will content myself until it arrives with case prep and wait to see what kind of throat / chamber before I load anyway.

Not saying not to use cast in the .223 as I do it all the time. Just saying reasonable expectations might generate more responses. Most use that bullet in ARs and are looking for best accuracy with reliable functioning. With the Bolt gun things like powders to use are easier. Not to say your quest isn't a good one as you might just get there. Go for it.

I'm just starting load development for the MP 227-65 for use in 9 and 12" twist ARs and am looking at H4895 and Varget initially. Initial load work up will be in a Rem M700V with 12" twist and a Savage Competition with 9" twist. When/if a load looks good I will switch to ARs. No concrete data yet.
