As mentioned on another thread I bought some Winchester M-22 ammo recently. I know it is touted as being something special for semi-auto "modern sporting rifles". But really what is the difference in this ammo, and any other 40gr. high velocity 22?
M-22 = 1255 fps, Super X = 1255fps, Wildcat =1255fps.
Sounds like marketing, and packaging to me.

It's not just marketing. M-22 is the only ammo that works in all of my 22s. The Wildcats are one of the worse offenders since they don't like working in most of them. The SuperX are marginally better. In all honesty they could be the same ammo in a different box. But my guns don't like ammo unless the box says M-22 on it

I'll be testing some on my next range trip. Not in a rimfire MSR, but in my most sensitive handgun. My little Walther P22 seems to only like CCI Mini Mag, and its all time favorite, RGB.
