Every rifle is a little different, but in my 1980s vintage Winchester I like the 31-185J from Accurate Molds. If you have any interest in that one, PM me your address, and I'll mail you a dozen bullets to try.

All things considered, I still recommend the NOE (RD) 311-165-rf.
I bought the hp version. Works in all 3 of my 30-30's.

I have had really good results with the Lee 170 gr RF
Size it .311
It is a clone of the Lyman 311041 which produced 3" groups at 100 yards in my Marlin 336 back in the '70s
Try 9 grains Unique for a mild load or a starting load of 3031 for a hunting load.
The 9 grain load is giving me .5 inch groups at 50 yards from my Thompson Contender.

wellll ,,,, you could use any of those mentioned above, or the rcbs 150 or 180gr versions.
they should all do just about anything you want from 1-k through 2400 fps in the 30-30.

31141 or any reasonable clone performs veery well for me from about 1200 to 2400fps.
