I was wondering if anyone had advice for flaring a .223 case. I am casting bullets at .225 after powder coat and sizing. Now I need a way to load them without scraping off lead. Any tips and tricks are most appreciated!

I use the Lyman M die for belling the case mouth.

I use the Lyman M die also. If you go with the Lyman, you will want the 22S neck expanding die.

You should do a search on Lyman & RCBS M-dies. Also A member here "BUCK SHOT" makes custom expanders that screw on to the de-caping stem

My recommendation is have buckshot make you one for your die set. Adjust it for just enough flare. There was a fairly recent thread and indications were the RCBS version of the "M-die" was doing a better job on cast boolits than the Lyman die, but I think that was pistol boolits, not rifle.

You also want to think about crimping, as it's likely you're reloading for a self loading rifle. I like the Lee FCD dies for rifle crimp on self loaders. But haven't had the time to get into loading lead for self loaders yet.
