Hi gang;

I recently bought a 'lot' of new, unfired brass (old stock, I think?), and it included some W-W Super 44 Mag. I bought it because it contained some 30-06 brass I wanted, but it also had a bunch of other stuff. I don't shoot 44 Mag, don't have any friends that do, and frankly don't have any use for it. So....my question is: Does this have barter/trade value?? I could throw it out there on Gunbroker, I guess, but I'd rather know what I have before I make any decisions about what to do with it, AND I'd rather it go to someone who will use, love and appreciate it....which is why I'm here on this forum.

I'd rather hold onto it until I have the post count here to swap or trade it, if y'all can tell me whether or not it's worth holding on to.

I apologize is this seems like 'fishing'.....my brain doesn't always process my thoughts well into words....or so my wife tells me. I'm just trying to find out if this is something folks here would be interested in so I'll know whether or not to hold onto it for future trading/bartering once I have the post count to do so.

Thanks! Trails4u

Wow...that was quick! I appreciate the offers, but I'm really set on 30-06 right now. That was the primary score for me in the lot I bought...and I only use 06 for hunting. I probably have 300-400 on hand, more than I'll likely use in a lifetime! I suppose this does kinda answer my question though..it apparently has some trade value!! :awesome:

New .44mag brass is nearly always in demand since the shortage.

Just so you have an idea how much it is worth. You can buy brand new starline for $101 for 500 pieces. In fact they have it right now.

Trails, your title says "W-W Super 44 Mag Brass?" Is that 414 Super Mag brass? If it is it could be worth a bit more being it's somewhat harder to come by.

Hi crbick;

It's 44 mag, the headstamp is 'W-W Super' I think it's actually stamped '44 Rem Mag'...but that's from memory. I'm not looking at it right now, but I am certain it's 44 mag. I'm not sure I've ever heard of a 414 super mag....but I might want one! That just sounds cooooool. :)

Sorry, I meant 445 Super Mag Brass, not 414 which is 41 Mag.

Here is a cut & paste from Starline Brass.

445 Super Magnum Brass, E.T. Gates 445 Super Mag Brass
1.600 - 1.610 O.A.L.
Designed by Elgin T. Gates for silhouette shooting, the .445 Super Magnum is a heavy duty, lengthened version of the .44 Magnum. Guns have been manufactured by Dan Wesson and Thompson/Center. Primer pocket must be reamed deeper if you wish to use Large Rifle primers.
