Has any one ever cut a factory stock to look like the english version or is there not enough wood there?

Thanks

Are you talking about the limited production 10/22RB-C Talo Distributor's Special?

This .22LR carbine features a nicely figured special straight-gripped English style stock with schnable forearm and no barrel band. The stock is specially laser engraved with an oak leaf & acorn pattern with the Ruger logo incorporated into each side of the forearm. The receiver and trigger housing feature the textured "crackle" finish and the barrel is finished in matte blue

Artful:
I like the stock in the second picture any idea who or where one could get one?

To answer the OP's question yes I did cut a stock 10-22 carbine stock down into an "english" version, dumped the barrel band for a small snabel.
I also had to add a piece of wood to shape a check piece out of. It looks good, not as nice as artful's picture but very nice so with some time and effort you can do it.

Having said that, and making a tad more money these days than I did 28 years ago, I would POP for the stock in artful's second photo real fast and call it a day.

I hope he posts who made / makes that as I may buy a third 10-22 just to put that stock on!

It's a ruger factory stock made for Talo's special run number 1

the top picture is from the second run.

I guess you could always call up Ruger and ask if they have any left to sell without the rifle....

or you could just order talo's 5th run version of it that's on rugers website

Yes that is the look I want. But I can not afford the big bucks to just buy one so I was thinking about hacking one

very nice but hand cut checkering would improve it! I bet the black gun crowd will barf seeing a 10-22 in a tuxedo!

Doubt they'll have a stock but all they can say is no, LOL!

I will also check Talo's site, hate the stainless look but they may have a blued one left, second run stock looks best.

I like the lines of the stock, but would prefer a simple point pattern in about 22-24 lines per inch.

Doesn't ring this boys bell. Why would you want a straight grip?

I just like things a little unique. I also love the straight grip Marlins and would like a straight grip h&r in a pistol round. Maybe they look older too.

I found it flowing, and pleasing to the eye. Not that I could afford one. But pleasing.
