Just have to show off a bit. Got this pile plus 35 wide mouth pint canning jars for $40. Gotta love the bundle!!!!!

I didn't realize it at the time, but one of the boxes was big enough for 15 jars (I thought they were all 12 jars each with one missing from one box). But 2 jars had chipped sealing edges, so the actual total was 36 jars.

Great find but now not only melting some lead to add to the pewter you have to can some tomatos and green beans. Peaches would be nice too.

You guys got the idea!!! Most of the jars will probably go to veggies or tomato sauce, but I always reserve some for canned venison (cubes and ground). Last hunting season I also made up a big batch of venison chili and canned it. Pop the lid, toss in the microwave a couple minutes and dinner is served! This year I'm growing my own kidney beans, so the all of the major ingredients will be "self sourced". Can't get much more local than that!
