View Full Version : 10 grs. Unique with the 7 X 57 mm
A nice ten round group at 100 yards today.
7 X 57 mm
168 gr. RCBS sized .286"
Hornady gas checks
10.0 grs. Alliant Unique
Neck sized brass with Lee Collet N/Sizer
Wolf L R Primer
A fun load. ( By the way, I think I'm allowing my narrow fore end on my rifle to roll a bit, right and left in the front bags causing a bit of right - left dispersion down range on the target )
At 65 years of age, I'm really glad I'm finished with those " Belted Magnum Days " of 30 yrs. ago and can now settle down to some real " FUN SHOOTING " where I can keep my fillings in my teeth and not be shooting 72 grs. of powder at a pop ! !

Very nice. 7x57 is a favorite caliber of mine, I can see I'm going to have to run some boolits through it, I haven't weaned it from copper, yet. Thanks for the pics

I think there is a " sticky " on 10 grs. of Unique.
Something special about 10 grs. of Unique in MANY rifles.

Ya kno, I think I may have that mold, or an equivalent Lyman one. Gotta get it out and cast some and see if they will fit my Chilean barrel.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.............

+1 Ben. I agree. Why wear out your shoulder for great groups like your's? Nice rifle, classic cartridge and you'll never shoot out your bore with reduced loaded casts!
.
Enjoy!
Ben,,,,that is a very nice group !
I just got through casting a couple hundred for my 7x57 and I think I will try that 7-10 gr Unique.....
again,,,,very nice group !

That is nice. I am sold on the 7x57. I was trying to make up my mind on a rebarrel, I'm sticking with the original.
Good looking mauser.

Shuz,
No, unfortunately I don't own a chrony.
I'm guessing 1,300 or so ? ?

My Chilean shoots almost any boolit or J word well but I never have tried unique it. Got to do that. I have the mold and the unique so I guess that is my next loading session. Hope I can come close to that group of yours Ben
