Well Lads, it seems that the 1876's are in and they are huge!

Yes, Bertran has 50-95 brass that is a bottle-necked case that looks like a 44-40 or a 40-2-1/4 on steroids.

Now, the lads that own these monsters are shooting Rifle Cartridge Black (it case only holds 75 grains no matter what you do.)

It's the bullets..... It's an express rifle and it would be neat in they had a Gould HP in 50 caliber.... But, I guess no one out there has that.

What would you'all recommend?

Additionally, I'd like to find some data on WC 872 and this cartridge.... Any ideas out there where be a safe place to start shooting pure lead 300-350g flat points?

There were three treads that discussed this earlier. It appears the rifles they ordered never came in.....ours did.

let me know what you'all think.

best regards

I shoot two bullets in my .50-70 New York State Militia RRB. A Lyman #515139-335gr. FN, and a #515141-425gr. FN. They're both very accurate with 50-50 Lino lead, and Alox-beeswax lube. The #515141 is still being made by Lyman, I bought the #515139 on EBay.
