LEE Pot Casting Platform

I just unpacked my NEW LEE pot, and casting with it was uncomfortable with the new height of the opening, preferring the 2" of my existing pot. So I cut a piece of 1/2" MDF to fit, nailed in three brads and found an empty salmon can of appropriate height. The can sits against the brads to catch drips, and fits OVER them to be a rigid base for my molds when casting. It works for me: YMMV.

Good idea!
I hate the mold shelf on my 4-20 pot. It needs to stick out more. I am trying to figure out how to make it work better for me. I also cant see the spout without having to bend over but don't want to raise the pot up higher because then it tires my arms out. Any ideas?

I made myself an adjustable shelf. The Lee pot is a bit of an awkward duck.

I just raised the height of the pot so I can see better without craning my neck all the time.

Til I get my bench finished, I built a raised platform for a WorkMate and clamped a square of plywood via a cleat, them put the pot on a piece of big channel iron on a thick aluminum tray with a high enough rim to catch a potful of spill. The spout is almost eye level, and I can step on the platform to look down into the pot. My sprue catcher fits under the near edge of the Lee baseplate, which makes it easy to pull drippage into the sprue catcher.

I sit on a 5 gal bucket with a padded seat. Puts the spout at eye level.
