View Full Version : really tall ruger iron sight blade

hi guys,

Just looking for the blade, I want it really tall. I can file it down if need be.

Any way/where to buy that? Not sure I want to mess with making my own blade at the moment.

Someone here on the sight makes and sells them.. Hopefully someone with a better memory than me will be along soon..

I've had David Clements Clement's Custom Guns (http://www.clementscustomguns.com/) make two for me. One for a 4 5/8" SRH and one for my 4.2" Redhawk. He's easy to work with and has a quick turn around. You will have to drill the hole for the roll pin but that's easily done.

Ruger offers their sights in various heights. Check MidwayUSA and they may have a factory sight that will work for you in stock.

A factory ruger rear sight base and a custom extra tall front sight.

I believe that Super Blackhawk 4 5/8 barreled revolvers have taller front sights than ones with longer barrels. I don't know if that helps you.

I had a local smith make one for my .45 Colt. I'm not completely satisified with it, but am saving my pennies to have it changed when I, hopefully, have some other odds and ends tweaked on the .45.

I bought a stick of 1/8" thick mild steel to try and make my own, but haven't had the time to pursue it lately.

says high, looks higher than the other sight blade, but doesn't look THAT high.
