Hey everyone! New member and new to loading cast boolits (not to reloading though) I have tried to figure out how to make the search function work, but can't seem to do it. I know this is probably on here, and I really hate to make another post, but need some info. I just got some cast bullets, 45 cal 230gr LRN and 40 cal 155gr LRNFP, I have found the data for the 45 (6.0gr Longshot), but can't find anything for the 40 using Bullseye. Anyone have a good plinking recipe for this?

I did attempt to download the reloaders resource. Installed it with the Microsoft Access, but kept getting an error message when I tried searching for load info:confused::-(

I found 155 gr lead bullets in my Lee manual and it gives 4.6 - 4.9 of Bullseye. Does this sound about right? It just seems a little high to me.

it sounds about right , I don't use that powder but i use the starting load from the lee book and it feels like a 40 meaning the sharp recoil like you get with factory rounds , you think can back off to 4gr easy enough for a little less recoil and possibly better accuracy but otherwise i would have no fear of loading the starting load of 4.6gr bulls eye under a 155gr cast for a 40 unless you were into some other bad practice like seating the bullet deep
remember that even though the case is small the 40 started life as a high pressure round and running it up around 30k psi is normal

it does sound like a lot when you think man i am only loading 3.5 of BE under a 158 bullet in 38spl but your also keeping that to half the pressure of a 40s&w

I load 4.5 of Bullseye under an NOE 160 RN bullet sized at 0.402". It's accurate and recoil is soft.
