So I am working on removing the rust from the remainder of the parts that came with my Senior turret press. There were a couple of dies and locknuts that had quite a bit of rust of them. I cleaned up one of the Hollywood "dies" but I have no idea that this thing goes to. It says Hollywood Gun Shop on it but the top of the die is not threaded. The bottom of the die is very small...

Any help IDing this would be awesome.

Here are the locknuts cleaned up. They are quite a bit beefier then the ones that come with the RCBS dies.

The priming unit all cleaned up. I think this is one for a Senior because its not long enough to prime anything on the Senior Turret.

Your post is kind of confusing. Obviously the top of the item in your first picture is not threaded on the outside but the bottom doesn't look any "smaller" than the minor diameter of the standard 7/8" x 14 tpi die. If you mean the hole inside the top is not threaded and the bottom hole is very small, look for a shoulder about an inch down inside the top hole. If it has one, it is one of the "dies" that are used to hold the Hollywood primer tubes.

I would say your guess about the priming stake is right. The Senior single stage primer stake is much shorter than the ones used on the turret presses.

Hollywood loading dies had a knurled lock ring that was rather larger in diameter than most other dies. However, the primer tube "dies" I have use 7/8" x 14 tpi hex nuts that look like the ones on your loading dies. Are those Hollywood Gun Shop dies for pistol calibers? Somebody may have lost the lock rings and just substituted hardware store nuts, or they may be the nuts for the primer "dies."

You are correct, I was referring to the opening at the bottom hole (opening) of the die. Thanks for the info. I kept trying to figure out what sort of die it is. I am not sure what the locknuts went to. They came in box with the Hollywood die. Thanks again for the info!

Two of those shorter primer stems came with my press They have to be for one of the other presses, cuz there is no way they will work on mine that I can see. If that die is for the priming tube, I would be curious to see how it works, I have the tubes, but not the dies.

Here's a pic of my primer "die" with the tube magazine I posted on another thread around here a while back:

Here's a pic of my primer "die" with the tube magazine I posted on another thread around here a while back:

Is there two dies for small and large primer tubes, or does one die do double duty?

The die itself looks simple enough, if a guy had the measurements maybe one of our enterprising machinest members could build one. I think I have everything else, beside the die.

I have both setups, large and small primer, but it looks to be the same "die" for both the large and small primer tubes. Somebody was going to duplicate the "die" on the other thread for someone who had the tubes and followers.
