Hi All,
This is my 1st post about my 1st Encore rifle, which I got this fall in .50 caliber black powder. It was used, but with it I also purchased a used 26" heavy bull barrel in .44 Rem. Mag. from TC's custom shop. I've shot the .44 barrel with a variety of factory loads and have had very good accuracy out to 150 yards. I plan to hunt everything with this and am looking for .44 mag hand load recipes and velocity information from others with similar length barrels. I've gathered a lot of load data from the web, but most is from hanguns and barrels not longer than 16 inches. I am particuarly interested in load recipes for 300-325 grain cast bullets, but also would like data about bullets in the 200-300 grain range. I know that there are great loads avaiable from Buffalo, Garrett & others, but it's not as much fun as loading them yourself and they're kind of expensive for a stay at home dad. Any insight is greatly apreciated.
Thanks, Brett
