The 41 Mag is my favorite cartridge, and like many others, I have been waiting/dreaming of a 41 mag marlin. My top of the list would be an 1894CCL, but I'm pretty sure I'm kidding myself about finding one of them for sale very soon. I have an opportunity to buy the 1894FG (unfired) for about $900, but really don't want the pistol grip stock. Is the 1894S about the same value as the FG? I think the 1894FG has been going for around $1,200 - $1,300 recently on GB.

If you are lucky enough to see one for sale you are in the minority. I doubt they will become more available in the future.

I had an 1894FG and the 1894CCL . And I ashamed to say I never shot cast in either of them . At the time I had a single Lyman 41 cal GC mold and 41 cal checks were like hens teeth and I didn't know about Gator Checks at the time .
The FG I bought new , the CCL was LNIB when I got it and pretty much the same when I sold it .

That 41 Mag cartridge has great proportions. Not too big, not too little... just right. I bet if Marlin gives it some support, it could really catch on.
I have both the FG and the CCL,the CCL was just purchased from a member on here. they are NICE! not the best photos.

I have an FG and 357 and 44 with the straight grip stock. I think I like the FG better when it comes to shooting; but then I have a 336A with the pistol grip. Think the curved lever is a little more comfortable; maybe, could be; then again?

That CCL sure does look familiar!
Glad she found a good home.

Buy once cry once...If TUG would have given me one more day i would have the CCL, but am grateful for the S i purchased that day. Best part is the FFL who did my transfer was making offers before he would take it out of the safe. I had to tell him I wouldn't even give him a price b.c. I had waited for the right time and offer. Hope to take mine out tommorow

Thought you might recognize her! For me to say I'm happy with it is an understatement!

Greetings
I have a CCL. Bought it about 15 years ago and happy I did. The heavier barrel makes shooting heavier boolits quit comfotable. That chunky tube makes holding it steady just that bit more easy. Sitting with cross sticks is a fine shooting experience. And being a Carbine it does not weigh too much that it gets heavy to haul about all day.
My standard load is at least a 240 grainer and up to 275 grains ( 265 GC is my favorite). The CCL handles those quit well. Have put alot of 1680 down that bore with the 265 grainers and I would tackle any critter with it. Sadly I cannot have it here so only get to shot it when up north there.

We'll TUG and DWD, glad y'all are happy campers. Send more glamour shots my way when y'all get a chance. I may have to keep their bigger brother, the 1894 CB 45LC and take him off the block since my money crunch has been handled for now.

I prefer SG (straight grips) so the CCL would be my choice. I think it just boils down to what you like...? I don't think Remlin will Ever (not sure I'd buy it anyway) make any more so you might just start saving for the one you like and be ready to pounce like a cat when you find what you're looking for!
Good Luck

I went ahead and made a deal locally on the 1894FG in 41 mag. The guy needed some primers so I gave him 5,000 WLP primers and $600 cash. The gun has never been fired. It's mine and not a scratch, yet!!!

I prefer the pistol grip butt stock. I found an 1894FG at a gun show slightly used 7-8 years ago and really like it. Use mostly plain base Lyman with SR 4756 and have gotten several turkeys with it. 41 caliber gas checks can be a problem at least the Hornady's I have don't fit very well on a Saeco mold I have. RCBS 41-210 SWC shoots the smallest groupos but doesn't feed very well.
