I've been wanting an inexpensive 6 shot 38 snubbie lately. I had decided on the Armscor M206 and went to order one only to find them out of stock everywhere my dealers get there guns from. My 2 next choices were the SP101 and Charter Arms undercover, but I wasn't real keen on the 5 shot wheel. Last night I was looking at Charter Arms website again and noticed they offer the Police Undercover, a 6 shot 38 built on the Bulldog 44 frame. This evening I went to my local gun store and had him check price and availability. It was in stock and within my budget so I told him to order one up. Now I need to order a holster.
I plan to shoot this a good bit to get used to it, then probably no more than 100 or so rounds a month to keep in practice with it. I've got heavier-duty, more expensive guns that I like for range toys, that I wouldn't want to lose if I ever needed to use in a defensive situation. Will the Charter last at say a 1000 rounds a year? They seem to have a good warranty, hopefully I won't need to find out.

If your happy with it, it doesn't matter what I think. Shoot on and be careful.

I intend to get one of the Armscors. Check the reviews on it at Bud's Gun Shop (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_876/products_id/411539731/Rock+Island+Model+51261+M200+6RD+38SP+4%22).
After reading the reviews, then seeing as they're sold out everywhere, I figure they can't be too bad.

OK, update: I got my Police Undercover Friday evening and got to shoot it a little bit Saturday afternoon. I didn't try single action at all, but the double action pull is WAY BETTER than I could have hoped for. Nice and easy, smooth with no hitches or roughness. I'm very happy with that. I tried some 158gn Blazers and 125rf, 148wc, and 158swc handloads from 10 steps. The heavier bullets hit to the sights (or just under) and the 125's were a little low. The factory grip felt good enough that I don't think I'll even change it out. So far everything is roses with this piece!

Here's a pic of the 6-shot cylinder

Here's one with the Charter on top of a 4" GP100 so you can judge the size

It's the same frame they use for the 44 Bulldog Pug, weighs about 21 ounces.
