Several weeks or so back I cast my first batch of handgun boolits. They were from a Lee TL358-158 SWC that dropped at 160 cast from 50/50 COWW/pure lead. They measured 3585 and were lubed with 50/50 JPW and "mule snot". Cases were mixed and the were over 3.4grn of Bullseye. Shot in .38 Special cases in a 4" Model 19-5. That's 25 rounds from 15 yards off hand (hence the fliers). I love this ... addiction!

I also tried some with Green Dot - 'bout 4grn (don't have that paperwork here). Not bad, but not great.

Now, for the 9mm. AND I got 2 more buckets of COWW from a guy a work with - cleaning out his dad's garage. I'll repay that kindness with cast boolits so HE can load some, too

Bet it felt good to finally get to shoot em! Looks like i've got rain predicted on my range day this week. Know what ya mean about the weather....seems like it's been rain, snow or too windy or something just about anywhere you travel to for too long this year.

a little tweaking the green dot load and it will do very well.
you just have a little vertical stringing going on there with a few shots.
try bumping the load .2 grs and see what happens.

Thanks fiver. I bought that when I couldn't fine Bullseye. Works well with XTPs, so I will bump it. No rain this weekend, so I'll see if I can get my 6 cavity to work. Bought a hot plate for preheating, just gotta relax and enjoy

hot plate is a good idea
If this is a hobby we should enjoy it and not feel we 'have' to do it

You're right, Walter. Too many "Have toos", which is why I have to learn to relax. Starting to cast has helped - it can't be rushed (safely) and I enjoy both the process and the result. Lowers my blood pressure and my stress level.
