Went out today for a short range session. I loaded up some of these with 3.9 grs of Green Dot. They shot OK and that was about it. The felt recoil was a lot less than the same load with a Lee 120 TC boolit. The Lee comes in at 123 grs and the Mihec is 129 grs. So just the extra weight should increase the felt recoil. But it did not.

I think I might try something else for powder. I have Bullseye, Unique, WSF, Red Dot, IMR 7625, 231, HS6. I have a lot of 231 and Bullseye so that will probably be the ones I switch to.

Please post up with what ever loads you have tried and works for you.

I don't post loads. But that bullet shoots very well for me in 9mm and 357 when pushed by W231/HP-38 and W296/H110.

Were you shooting solids or hollowpoints? Because that weight is very odd. Mine drops a 125 grain HP and 135 grain solid w/ 96/3/1. The weight is pretty much on the money w/ little variation.

HP with the penta pins. Just got the mold yesterday. The lead is fairly hard as well. About 12. The weight runs 128.4-129.1 for the ones I made last night. This is also the 0.359" mold so that might make a little difference.

I've been using the load data from Lyman's 47edition for their 356634 mold, which looks identical in design and lists a weight of 130gr. For Unique, I've been loading the max of 4.0grs. Going to try the starting load of 3.5grs. for my wife to shoot in the new M&P FS that I just got her. I've shot them sized to .358 from my S&W 5906 and my brother has shot them from his M&P Shield without issues or leading.

I've casting mostly COWW's with a few stick on's in the melt. My HP's weigh in the same range as yours, and the FN boolits weigh around 133-135.

I loaded some up with 3.8 grs of 231. Will have to wait till the weekend to try them out.

For W231 the 47 edition lists starting load of 2.6gr. and max of 4.1.

What OAL are you seating them too? Think mine were feeding fine at 1.100" from my 5906, but am going to run a slightly shorter load of 1.095" from my wife M&P, as it appeared to be hitting the lands at 1.100". I don't know if there is a length difference between these Mihec mold 9mm's and the Lyman 356634, but the manual lists OAL 1.016".

Bump. Curious as to how others are reloading this bullet.

The 231 load shot OK. I think I will have to play with the amount to see if the accuracy improves. Recoil still felt soft.

If you want velocity with low pressure WSF is hard to beat with 9mm.

I've worked up to 4gr of red dot with this boolit in 9mm. These boolits have a generous taper and can be loaded long. I'm gunna shoot that load into milk jugs when I have time.

Our 9mm pistols like this bullet very much over 3.8 grains W231 or 4.2 grains Unique.

Took the Mrs. out yesterday with her new FS M&P and we put 160 of these Mihec 9mm's down the barrel, and another 40 of Berry's plated. In looking back to my prior post I don't think the 1.100" length was hitting the lands, but hitting something when it was feeding into the barrel. As we fired both 1.100" and 1.095" without slide fully seating issues through her gun. I had loaded up some mild loads of 3.5grs of Unique, and had some 4.0 grs., each cycled the slide and the only malfunction she had was after the first shot it jammed loading the second round, no other issues on the other 199 rounds fired. She even tried some 5.0 grs. Unique that her father had been shooting out of his M&P, and now wants me to load some a little hotter. So have to get another batch loaded up, probably with 4.5 grs. Unique.
