I've had a .244 and 6mm in years past for coyote and long range rock chuck shooting. With the 80 gr bullets I found H414 to be an excellent powder giving max velocities (3400 - 3500 fps) with 80 gr jacketed bullets. With 85 - 90 gr bullets I found H4831 to be excellent. However, these days I'd opt for the 87 gr V Max and load it over H4831SC. With a 24 - 26" barrel 3400 fps should be realized w/o exceeding 60,000 psi. With the accuracy potential, the high BC and the explosive terminal characteristics of the V Max it should prove deadly out to extreme ranges.

My best loads for 80 - 85 gr bullets are also with H414.

45.5 - 47 gr is what has worked for me. 47 gr can be pretty hot so edge up to it carefully. You'll have to see what works in your rifle. Partial neck size (approx 1/2) and load out, just short of the lands. I didn't use mag primers, just F210's.

I got the best accuracy with 45.5 gr and the Sierra 85 gr HPBT.

RL22, worked best for me with 90 - 105 gr bullets.

I am just shooting cast in mine now but years back I loaded jacketed with 4895 to a velocity of about 2800 fps. A little slow but that is what gave best accuracy and dumped coyotes at 400+ yards easily.

Imr 4831 and Sierra 85 HPBT worked for me. It is a GAME bullet, but kills ground hogs, coyote and deer. It is not hide friendly though.
