Long time user of cast in my 44 pistols. I'm now a believer for my 30/30. Used 4198 for an accurate load that doesn't lead and has no first round flyers. Now, on to 30/06 and 308.

Fun isn't it? I found the lee 170 FN is very accurate in my 30-06 but it sometimes stubs on the chamber when fed from the left receiver rail. A common problem in Mauser actions with flat nose boolits. I have better luck with RN or even spritzer (Lyman 311332) in my 30-06. They feed perfectly and are very very accurate.

Have fun that is what this is all about!

Glad to hear about your success. i love my 94 winchester. Yes, that lee 170 rnfp works great in many .30 caliber cartridges.

Cast and 30-30 plays together quite nicely.
I think you will soon discover that your 30-06 will do the same! My Savage in 30-06 was a joy to shoot with cast. Now why did I sell that gun,,,,,,,,????
Oh yeah, to buy another Mauser....

Heck yeah. I doubt my 30-30 will ever see anothe j-word in my lifetime. The addiction only gets worse. Enjoy the fruits of your... labor, yeah that's it.

There's something about boolits and leverguns, seem to be made for each other.

All I shoot nowadays is cast. Lots of fun. My most shot rifle is a US Model 1917 in30-06.
