Just recieved this e-mail from a friend today that powder cannisters are being down sized. Any other info out there about this http://bulletin.accurtateshooter.com/2014/04/dot-approves-new-1000-grain-2-3-oz-powder-containers/

Great...now we can look for smaller packages of nothing.

When I first started reloading, I wished for something like this.

It would be nice to be able to buy sampler packs of several different powders that are close to each other in burn rate.

It would be a cheaper way to try different powders to see which worked best before buying larger packages.

Nothing new. Look at many of the Hodgdon 1# powders........14oz? TrailBoss.......9oz?

How about a "gallon" of ice cream? Or a "gallon" of Cranberry juice from Costco?

Just a sign of the times, my friends!

A local gun shop long ago used to buy kegs of powder and sell it by the amount you wanted. I loved the idea but it wasn't legally allowed to be broken down and sold, so he stopped. This was long before gun shops were under the scrutiny of today. I'm all for the opportunity of getting smaller amounts, providing the one and eight pounders don't disappear. This is coming from the DOT so I smell a rat. Nothing ever comes out of the federal government that's for the people.

^^^^^^ This I wish you could get shot in 5#lb lots or just enough to load 25shells to see how they pattern b4 buying 25#'s of it.

Saeed does something every year, you never know what it's going to be. The pay-per-post gag a few years ago got me pretty good.
