So, I am using a Lee c309 170f mold boolit and a gas check loaded over 22 grains of IMR 4198 out of my Model 94 Winchester carbine. I get good accuracy and my boolits are 50/50 wwpb. Wondering if anyone has ballistic info for this load such as muzzle velocity, energy in foot pounds at muzzle and one hundred yards, trajectory etc. thanks for the help. Craig

I took a look at the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook #4 and your load should have a velocity of about 1800 fps. They list a maximum load with the 311041(about the weight of your) boolit of 23.5 grains of 4198 for 1999 fps with 31,400 lbs C.U.P.

Keep in mind that Lyman's load probably varies to some extent from yours, but it should be close enough to give you an idea of what your load is doing. They also used a 24" test barrel on a Universal receiver to obtain their data.

The Lyman CBH #4 is available at stores and on line. It's well worth the cost if you don't already have a similar manual.

with the educated guess of 1800 fps , the ballistic coefficient form LEE http://leeprecision.com/bullet-casting/rifle-bullet-molds/bullet-mold-double-cavity/ and a ballistic calculator from Hornady http://www.hornady.com/ballistics-resource/ballistics-calculator

1800fps muzzle with a 170gr boolit 1223 fpe and at 100 yards 1549 fps and 905fpe with sights 1.5 inches above bore axis 0 inches high at 25 yards , .8 high at 50 and 75 , right on at 100
