The 338 WHITE EXPRESS is based on the full length 9.3X74R case, necked down to .338 and fire-formed to minimum body taper with a 40 degree shoulder angle...

That is one long case and the improved version looks like it really adds some capacity. 340 Weatherby velocities? Nice looking rifle too.

Who made that rest?

Rich,

that is a SINCLAIR F-Class bi-pod. One of the most stable front rests I have ever used. I use it on all my varmint rifles and long-range hunting rifles....

swheeler - velocity runs a couple hundred fps. faster than a 338-06....

That put it on par with 338Win then, good for anything that walks NA

Elmer Keith wrote about the 338X74 Keith back in the '70's. It was the 9.3X74R necked to .338" and blown out. His was done on a Farquaharsen (sp) single shot action.
When did this "338 White Express" come out. If later than the mid '70's it is just basically a copy of Keith's round.

I know nothing about Keith's cartridges...

I developed the 9.3X74R round in calibers ranging from 6mm up to and including .41 caliber....

I did not state that you knew anything about Keith's cartridges.
I made the statement that Keith wrote of the 338X74 Keith based on a necked down blown out 9.3x74R back in the mid to late '70's.
That is easy to find out if one wanted to by research.
You will find that there is rarely anything new in wildcat cartridges and in many cases factory cartridges.
Just a little tweaking just to make it someone's baby.
Nothing wrong with that. Everyone wants to have their "baby".

I kind of like the long lean look of the cartridge, especially with everyone going short and fat nowadays:)
