I don't religiously follow this forum but I do stop by and read it on occasion. Mostly I feel terribly under-knowledged in this area of firearms history. I do currently own an older repro Zoli Zouave that I have never shot. I've also owned an Italian repro 1861 musket and a couple handguns. And there was the original Gallagher's carbine.
I came across this book several years ago on ebay and found it immensely valuable for historical content. Its a reprint hardback book published in 1984 but the official title is:
Reports of Experiments

Copious illustrations.
