You could clamp it in a vise between two pieces of wood. Do this before you size it. If you get the right results, then you can start looking for the right flat point mold. I'd hate to have to file every one...

What I've done in the past is set the depth control stop of my lube sizer so a small amount of the tip shows above the die . Then , using a flat nose punch I bring the handle down untill the punch just barely touches the die .

Get one of the case trim dies where you file the case flush with the top of the die?

How about a bullet pullers collet with a stop added? Simple would be a close sized hole and sli to allow bolck of wood to be clamped to bullet. As stated above.

Take a thick piece of aluminum or steel and drill a hole the diameter you want your flat to be. Now drill in the same hole, with another drill the diameter of your boolit, but do not drill through. Drill it so that the boolit body has support and the tip protrudes enough through the first hole to file it off.
Use chalk on the file so the lead doesn't gum it up.
Other option is to use meplat trimmer.

I built this today to trim some cracked mouth 243 down to use for my 45 acp shotshells. 5 seconds touched up to a 20" disk sander and they are ready.
