Here's a nice Savage Model 170 at a damn good price for you .30-30 fans. If it turned me on, I'd take it at the Buy It Now price of $195; fortunately there are some guns I don't want.

And it's still a tube magazine, so you gotta use flat point bullets. I'll keep my levers.

Sound like pretty fair reasons that the piece might carry a "Buy-It-Now" of only $195. On the other hand, this afternoon, I'll be picking up a late birthday present that I bought for myself: a Savage 340 (bolt action) in 30-30. $206 + shipping...with (2) spare mags included.

Can't be any noisier than a Pump Shotgun... long beloved of the Midlands for Deer Hunting where they don't allow "rifles" (or Pistol Caliber rifles only).

My uncle has a 170 and it's a danged fine rifle. I'm not in the market to buy one, but I'll be mighty pleased if he wills it to me.

I have a NIB 170B chambered in 35 Rem. I'm a Marlin guy but this is one of those rifles I wanted when I was young and didn't have any money to buy guns. Just something about it I like, something to do with my first CF being a 340. As soon as I get my TLC359-190-RF from Lee, the rifle will not be NIB anymore. It will only be a cast bullet gun.

Got this one a few years ago with the first 2 Inches of the barrel rusted so bad that I had to "Amputate" it and re-crown. After a bunch of work on the lifter ( broken spring) and some other minor work here it is.

It is't as smooth as my Remington 141 but it still is a hog killing machine.

Good shooting,

BTW I paid $80 for it in non-shooting condition
