That looks like an excellent tool for practicing self control....repeatedly. Very nice.

Very nice! Sometimes a fellow just has to do what he knows he'll regret later if he doesn't do it . . . .

There is no cure for the addiction . . . so just feed it once in a while and enjoy it!

A lot of us would have done the same as you! Let us know how it shoots - looks like fun!

What? I don't see anything wrong with what you did. Being friendly with the gun store staff is quite alright IMHO. Buying something while you're there visiting with them just shows how much you care about their well being. You should be proud of yourself for doing the right thing. GOOD JOB!

Very nice, that's one of the convertibles that is on my wish list.

Don't you guys know that you can't quit cold turkey. You are supposed to taper off, lest you go into seizures and start foaming at the mouth. Any gun owning head shrink will tell you that.

THIS gun owning head shrink agrees. You are better off not taking the chance.

Yep last one, don't "need" anything else. Did find out the 45ACP loads I have for my 625 and Sig Nightmare are too long and won't chamber. Guess I have something to do tomorrow.

I feel much better about..."Me" now.

P.S. Great snag! If I was gonna (nope I'm done buyin' em' up, yeah right) pick a S.A. it'd be that combo.

You only bought one gun I consider that total self control.

I don't have any self control, either, but I don't have any money, so the two kinda cancel each other out.

Come on, let's give the poor guy a short break while he recovers from his latest lapse from grace.

I sympathize, because just TWO DAYS AGO I discovered that I "NEED" a gun that I didn't even know existed!

Yep.... it's a Cimmaron copy of a cartridge-converted Colt percussion revolver. .38 Special caliber, beautiful finish (blue and case colors) , nice wood, SWEET balance...well, y'all know the virtues of a '51 Colt Navy. Now add the .38 Special to those attributes, and we have a VERY NICE package indeed.

The price is disgustingly reasonable (he must have seen me coming), and if I hadn't been buying ANOTHER pistola at the time I would have been an easy mark. Maybe next week...DANG, but the temptation was fierce.

There have been a lot more guns I have regretted NOT buying than I have regretted buying.

I had just came from another store where I bought 200 new brass for the 45 Colt. Paid $37.00 per 100. Then when I bought this gun the dealer came out with 2 boxes of Black Hills 250 Cowboy loads a box of Winchester 250 Cowboy and an old box of Federal SWC. $10.00 for the Federal and $20.00 a box for the other three. So I paid less for the loaded ammo than the brass. I have 200-300 bras already, I should be OK on 45 Colt brass for a while

I have one of those guns just like that. You'll enjoy it.
PS; I refuse to "stop" buying guns. Miss Penny says it's ok,,, because she is a gun girl, AND she says I'm working on her retirement package.

If you don't mind saying, what'd you pay for it?

I have the same gun and it's a real jewel. I'm actually looking for a second but prices are up there right now compared to where they've been since I bought mine a couple years back.

I too had trouble with some 45 acp loads chambering. This is mostly due to tight chamber throats (mine were barely 0.451). Since it's the cylinder, it doesn't have the oversized freebore lead into the rifling like an auto does. I opened mine up with sandpaper to about 0.452 and ammo fits a lot better now.

This way you don't have to worry about the deal that got away. And maybe somewhere down the road you can find another deal and be able to shoot a gun in each hand. But you might be wise to get that ok'd at home first. I tried that a while back and it did'nt go as planned with SWMBO.

Something for all us gun buying addicts to remember. Ask not to be forgiven for the guns you buy but rather for the guns you sold.

The gun purchases I have regretted the most were the ones I failed to make. That's a great one to have in anyone's book. Enjoy it.

The dealer had $550 on it I traded for it so I have more than that in it but that's the way it goes. I had a couple guns that I shot and had fun with but time to move on to somthing else. I have my keepers and my traders. Shot it a little today with some Tula 230 FMJ. Not the best stuff but had some good groups. Can't seem to get the pics to upload. I'll keep trying. I just tried for 10 minutes and keep getting failed.

That is an eminently useable and practical revolver combination, in likely its best barrel length. I would have been hard-put to turn it down myself.

Just a few groups from today. 4 gr. Red Dot in the 45ACP Lee 230 TC TL. They have to be loaded short. My Lyman Cast Bullet manual said 1.17 OAL they won't chamber anything over 1.14. 45 Colt 7.1 Red Dot same Lee 230. The groups that have the one hoe high are the Colt loads. I would make a hole then shoot at the hole for the 5 shot group. ACP are sighted dead on. I really like this gun

Shoots as good as she looks, and right where she looks. You landed a honey, for darn sure.

Nice work! I've got the lipsey's convertible on the smaller flat-top frame and after a little cylinder work, it's pretty darned accurate.... I left the ACP cylinder as-is from the factory. I've only shot Lyman's 452374 in it, so I haven't had issues with ammo not working. It's a "steep" ogive design with surface-bearing portion only inside the case. Suppose I need to try some #68 clone-types to see if they're tight in that cylinder.....

Anyway, congrats and happy shootin'!!!

Groups were only at 10 yard off hand. But I was ringing my steel plate 10X10 inch. I started at 25 yards would shot once get a hit then walk 10 yards away and shoot again. Made it to 85 yards before I missed with the first shot off hand with the ACP. Really like the 45ACP in the gun, shoots good light recoil and the ejector rod is long enough to push the empties clear out. Trigger has a lot of cheep in it I dropped one leg off the trigger spring to lighten it a little and it helped. I called Ruger yesterday and told them that the grips didn't fit very well and asked if I could get another set. Lady said sure and told me they were on the way after she confirmed my serial #. Great company.

RCBS makes a very nice 245 KT mold for the .45 Colt. My blue steel Ruger Blackhawk really likes that bullet. I have enjoyed loading for and shooting that Blackhawk for the past 41 years. She is still accurate today.

Good shooting. I've got a blue 4 5/8" conv. and it shoots the Lee 200rf really well, and it's no trouble to seat short enough to chamber in the acp. I've struggled with an H&G68 clone, it needs loaded with no shoulder outside the mouth to chamber, but also shot well when made to fit. I got some 45colt brass but haven't loaded any yet.
