Lee c 309 170f, 5050 wwpb, not tin over 22 grains imr4198 out of my 1973 model 94 shoot a group I can cover with a quarter at 50 yards. I am happy! Btw the boolits are sized to .308 and gas checked. To all those who helped answer my questions thank you so much . Craig

Nice job, man!

So, you found a way to bell the case mouths properly without shaving lead, and the boolits didnt fall into the case upon chambering? Did you get yourself a real expanding die, or just make the needlenose pliers work?

Dont think that we (I) forgot your previous thread...

It seemed you were walking a little blind, no offense. But if you are getting these results, you must have figured out some improvements. Please share the steps you took, as it will help others!

Again, nice job and keep up the good work. I am interested particularly because i finally got my hands on some h4198 and may try it in my marlin with the same boolit. I am going to start with my tried and true imr 4227 loads, and have been liking the slow launch of h414 too, so will try that.

Let us know what solved your previous problems...that is what this forum is all about, as far as i see it

22 gr of 4198 must be a winner, I use that load with an RCBS 30-180-FN and a half grain of dacron for 1" 50 yd groups. I love seeing new guys tasting success with cast.
