I know that I am probably trying to pee upstream with this idea, but here goes anyway....Does anyone have any idea of how a pistol scope can be mounted on a 6" GP100 with full length rib without using the B-Square mount where the front and rear sight are removed, or drilling and tapping holes in the rib to secure nearly any mount base? Any ideas are worth considering, so fire away. I don't plan on making this a hunter, just a steel ringer and practice toy to prepare for my bigger bores.

I`ve been waiting & lookin myself for the same thing ,but no dice looks like ya gotta remove at least the rear site, but you won`t find no more solid a no drill than this 1 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1974632881/weigand-1-piece-weaver-style-scope-base-ruger-gp100-6-barrel

& it really does`t take much effort/time to remove the sites, just time to rezero em is my problem.

I have been looking also with no satisfaction.
If someone wants to go shooting and have a day with irons, and a day with a scope. Well on and off and on and off can be a pain, specially with little springs and small screws and pins at the range.
At my range we have special dirt that eats everything you drop on it--like it's gone forever.
I don't know if it would work but here is my Idea.
A 6" GP100 has a thick rib on top of the barrel, why can't a slot be milled in the rib to accommodate a small weaver type base-- mill it so a thin base would fit flush with the top of the barrel. Secure it with three small screws and blue lock tight.
Use QD rings like the Warne, the scope would come on and off and when it's off the sights would still be active and not interfered with cause the base is flush with the top of the barrel.

I have a stainless GP100 with a 6" barrel and what I think is a B-Square mount. It is aluminum and covers the whole barrel.
I DID NOT remove front and rear sights. In fact, they are still usable looking through the mount.
Most accurate handgun I own. 140g XTP and H110 gets the job done.

How far are you trying to shoot it?
